Na Węgrzech, na bardzo dobrze infrastrukturalnie przygotowanym obiekcie w Nyirad (oj, chyba wyrosła konkurencja dla Słomki w corocznym plebiscycie FIA na najlepszy tor rallycrossowy w MERC) odbyła się kolejna, czwarta już runda mistrzostw Europy. Wbrew zapowiedziom, pojechało tam naszych jedynie dwóch zawodników, Wicik upgrade'uje swojego Forda w Holandii, a Zoll podczas testów w Słomczynie zamęczył swoje BMW. A takie było śliczne, prawie jak amerykańskie!

Nasi w osobach Guranowskiego i Sokołowskiego nie rzucili Europy na kolana. Szczerze mówiąc, byli w głebokiej dupie, żaden się nie załapał do żadnego finału ze swoich 20 i 24 miejsca. Sztampa.

The 2009 European Rallycross Championship is developing into a very competitive and diverse series, the latest winner being Swedish Skoda driver Michael Jernberg who won Hungarian event at Nyirad.

Jernberg qualified his Skoda Fabia II on pole position for the A final and led the race from lights to flag, holding off the best efforts of Norwegian Sverre Isachsen who finished second for the fourth time in as many events. Finn, Jussi Pinomäki completed the top three finishers, the Citroën driver getting home ahead of his team mate and defending champion Kenneth Hansen who won round one. Round three winner Ludvig Hunsbedt placed fifth, ahead of Andreas Eriksson, the winner of round two, who won through from the B final but was slowed in the A final by a rear puncture.

In Division One-A the day belonged to Frenchman Olivier Bossard who started from pole and led the A final all the way, finishing ahead of class points leader Mats Lysen. The teenage Norwegian Renault driver remains ahead in the championship, while Bossard moves up to second place. Third place went to Russian Timur Timerzyanov in his Renault Clio.

Belgian Jos Sterkens won the Division Two A final after a close race with his compatriot Guino Kenis. The latter started from pole but his BMW was not as quick at the start as Sterkens’ Focus. Third place went to Swede Per Niklas Lööv who was making his first appearance of the year here.

Kenneth Hansen had problems in Hungary

Kenneth Hansen was only four in the A finals of the Hungarian European Championship race in rallycross and lost important points in the EM status. Vann did Michael Jernberg while his toughest competitor Sverre Isachsen took its fourth straight second place.
